Built in the fifteenth century, this old private residence has lodged members of the nobility and the people of the court who accompanied the kings and queens during their visits to Fontainebleau, near Vaux-le-Vicomte

Since the eighteenth century (1764 approximately) this old royal abode began to be transformed gradually into a hotel and welcomed guests passing through Fontainebleau for short stays.

The hotel has been subjected to regular transformations and embellishments which have improved its service and its comfort even further while preserving the charm of this exceptional place.

Aigle Noir Hôtel has welcomed many personalities over the last fifty years, heads of state, members of royal families, artists or business men.

Guests can help themselves to drinks (coffee, tea, herbal tea, fizzy drinks, mineral water, beer & alcohol drinks) and are requested to fill in a chit for them at the reception desk.

Hire one of our lounges (capacity 10-40 people) for meetings, recruitment events, etc. All have Wireless with free Internet access.
